Occupational Certificate: Organisational Risk Practitioner Level 6 (NQ-OTR)

Program duration: 12 months

Entry requirements: NQF level 4: National Senior Certificate (NSC) or a Senior Certificate, with endorsement for diploma studies or a National Certificate (Vocational) at NQF Level 4. Learners will have at least an educational level of grade 12 with Mathematics and Communication level 5, and at least two year’s relevant risk management work experience and have general computer and office skills.

Delivery mode: Blended delivery (Online workshop sessions with self-study combined with a structured workplace learning program)

Credits and level: 125 credits at NQF6

Assessment: SESTO will undertake internal assessments of the knowledge and practical assessment activities.

Statement of Results: Upon successful completion of all four knowledge modules, SESTO will issue a Statement of Results (SOR) to the learner based on the Knowledge, Practical and Work Experience. This SOR provides the learner with access to undertake the external qualifying assessment.

Assessment Quality Partner: Institute for Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA)

External Integrated Final Assessment (EISA): The EISA is the final assessment piece that is conducted by the Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA)

QCTO Certification: Candidates who successfully complete the EISA will receive their Occupational Risk Practitioner Certificate from the QCTO (Quality Council for Trades and Occupations)

Program Introduction:

This qualification prepares a learner to be able to manage risk management plans in support of an organisation's risk framework, which is generally the responsibility of Risk Officers. However, the Risk Practitioners assist the Risk Officers by undertaking or facilitating activities related to the implementation of the plans for managing risk in an organisation. A qualified learner will be able to implement the framework (usually developed by Risk Officers) for managing risk in the business unit.
